VISIBLE DARKNESS
Visible Darkness was started by three best friends who have been playing
together since January, 2002. Cory, Jake and Devin's music inspiration
has changed from artists like Disturbed and God Smack, to Chimaira, The
Red Cord, Killswitch Engaged etc… In June, 2004 Visible Darkness had their
first show with Dual Vocalists: Chris Martin (clean) and Lynwood Slipp
(distorted); two guitarists Devin Martin and Zack Roza; Jake Roth on bass
and Cory Pinkston on drums. Visible Darkness put out a version of a metal
Linkin Park. Two shows later Devin's Co-worker Kyle had approached him
and asked if he could take over the booking for the band. After proving
himself by providing shows, promotions and merchandise, Kyle became the
manager. After a few shows Lynwood decided to leave the band. With out
hesitation classmate Scott Walsh jumped in and delivered a more aggressive
type of voice. Before each practice Scott would warm up to bands like Killswitch
Engaged and As Hope Dies. Eventually Chris Martin became a father and had
to leave the band, making Scott the only vocalist which took the band's
first step to a more heavy and crunchy sound. For the next year the members
stayed the same. In the summer of 2005 Visible Darkness recorded the single
"Desert Killing" (lyrics written by Chris Martin). The following summer
a dispute between the two guitarists broke out and Zack quit the band.
During the next few months the three instrumentalists changed their sound
to a more heavy crunch, with break downs that gripped the ear of any who
listened. During this change of music, Scott introduced Rob Brewer (guitarist),
who quickly picked up where Zack left off. Rob gave the band a new way
to look at writing their music by adding melodic tunes to their songs.
In September of 2007 Visible Darkness recorded two more songs (Two-Face
and A Poem to Suicide). Visible Darkness had played many shows in neighboring
states, but in November 21st, 2007, they took their first mini-tour, up
to Washington.
